Julio Alfredo Jaramillo Laurido, nació el 1ro de Octubre de 1935, en un pequeño departamento en Gómez Rendon y Villavicencio en la ciudad de Guayaquil.
El dia de su muerte, 9 de Febrero de 1978 la multitud ocupo varias cuadras a la redonda e interrumpio el trafico. y seguia llegando la gente y muchos grupos comenzaron a cantar Fatalidad y Nuestro Juramento.
Julio Jaramillo camino por las mismas calles que nosotros, se guarecio bajo los mismos portales y canto debajo de los mismos balcones, y aun asi tuvimos que esperar el cariño que vimos en su entierro para comprender el significado que tuvo su vida y su trayectoria musical.
Recien nos dimos cuenta que del error que habiamos cometido cuando lo dejamos partir, de la forma que lo hicimos, a buscar en otros paises el reconocimiento que aqui se le negaba.
El artista fue velado en el Palacio Municipal de Guayaquil. Una vez en el Salon de la ciudad se organizo un acto sencillo. El Alcalde Raul Baca no estaba, nadie recuerda tampoco a un concejal, a ningun representante del Gobierno militar.
