"Los juegos de azar afectan al cerebro"....

Los naipes, la lotería, las apuestas, los lujosos casinos, producen desgracias y adicciones que son una terrible maldición para millones.

Si se consideran las consecuencias de los juegos de azar para el que los practica y su familia, se trata de un problema social de alta envergadura.

Aunque la mayoría de los deportes importantes tienen conexiones con los juegos de azar, éstos no son un juego. Se trata de un negocio “serio” que tiene millones de adherentes y poderosos defensores. Se calcula que los norteamericanos gastan tanto como 550 mil millones de dólares al año en juegos de azar legales.

Debiéramos preocuparnos por aquellos que han llegado a ser adictos a los juegos de azar. Debido a que la adicción le roba a la persona la facultad de cambiar su conducta, es casi imposible vencerla sin ayuda externa. Los Jugadores Anónimos es un recurso sólido para la terapia en grupos, y hay consejeros certificados en muchas ciudades.
