Cuenca, mi ciudad favorita, capital de la provincia de Azuay, es es una ciudad de hermosos paisajes, bordeada de cuatro pintorescos ríos, una ciudad con belleza colonial y de arquitectura inconfundible, sus calles, elegantes balcones de hierro forjado, plazas, patios floridos, la Catedral, sus iglesias y monumentos enamoran a visitantes tanto propios como extranjeros.
En cualquiera de las dos carreteras que nos conducen a Cuenca encontramos paisajes hermosos, es imposible que alguien se resista a bajarse a tomar una foto. A lo largo de la vía Durán-Tambo encontramos un sinnúmero de pueblitos que nos reciben con una variedad gastronómica, como el choclo con queso o la fritada. Otro atractivo que podemos encontrar por esta vía es el Complejo Arqueológico Ingapirca, que son ruinas de los Incas y de la cultura Cañari.
Casi llegando a Cuenca, unos 15 minutos antes, en el sector de Bibín, está Cuenca Canopy, un complejo turístico donde se puede hacer varios deportes extremos, yo tuve la oportunidad de hacer canopy, y aunque fue una experiencia increíble fue un tanto aterradora, la recomiendo para esos amantes dela aventura, de seguro les encantará.
Y por la otra vía, Cuenca-Molleturo podemos apreciar las lagunas del Parque Nacional Cajas, en el cual podemos hacer observación de aves, caminatas, o fotografía.
Al llegar a la ciudad es una mezcla de estilos, nos encontramos con lo colonial, en su centro histórico, las construcciones modernas, más una naturaleza que envuelve nuestro sentidos. Cuenca nos recibe con los brazos abiertos, con una sonrisa y amabilidad característica de su gente.
La última vez que estuve en esta bella ciudad tuve la oportunidad de visitar más a fondo su centro histórico, sus iglesia y museos, uno que me gustó mucho fue el Museo del Sombrero de Paja Toquilla, fue interesante ver como los elaboran, lo cuan cotizados son, además otro punto interesante de este lugar, es que conservan una pared que tiene restos de los cañaris.
Cuenca es una ciudad inolvidable, todos siempre quieren regresar a ella, sentarse a orillas del río Tomebamba y disfrutar del sonido de las piedras que empuja el agua, su fresca brisa, sus parques…
Visiten esta hermosa ciudad, que los acogerá con los brazos abiertos!!!
