There are numerous species of\u00a0bird\u00a0found in a wide variety of\u00a0habitats\u00a0all around the world.\u00a0Birds\u00a0are one of the most thriving groups of\u00a0animals\u00a0on the planet as they generally have their\u00a0habitat\u00a0(the skies) to themselves.<\/p>\n

Birds can be easily distinguished from other\u00a0animals\u00a0due to their sharp, pointed beaks, thin legs, wings and feathers covering their bodies. Although all\u00a0bird\u00a0species have wings, some are actually flightless\u00a0animals\u00a0that only use their wings for balance and not for flying. Where other\u00a0birds, such as\u00a0penguins, use their wings for swimming.<\/p>\n

Birds are often omnivorous\u00a0animals, generally eating nearly anything that they can find. Most species of\u00a0bird\u00a0survive on a\u00a0diet\u00a0primarily consisting on\u00a0insects\u00a0and plants such as fruits, nuts, berries and seeds.<\/p>\n

Birds are also distinctive in the fact that they lay eggs in a similar way to other\u00a0animalgroups such as\u00a0fish\u00a0and\u00a0reptiles.\u00a0Birds\u00a0often make nests in the trees or on the ground in which to lay their eggs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
