Es el \u00fanico cant\u00f3n totalmente urbano del Ecuador, (el cant\u00f3n esta formado por una \u00fanica ciudad que ocupa la totalidad del territorio). La mayor\u00eda se dedica a las actividades tur\u00edstica y comercial.
