The focus of our research program is the physiology of tropical and subtropical crops, especially fruit crops with an emphasis on the regulation of flowering and responses to environmental factors. We are also interested in tropical citriculture and the horticulture of rare tropical fruit crops.
Our current projects are:
- Salinity tolerance in wild cucurbit species and their potential use as rootstocks for commercial cucurbits.
- Huanglongbing and Asian Citrus Psyllid survey in the coastal region of Ecuador.
- Cytokinin application effects on rooting and tiller formation in rice.
