(game)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mariowiki.com\/Mario_Bros._%28game%29\">Mario Bros.<\/a><\/em>, a game which was released for the <a title=\"Famicom\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mariowiki.com\/Famicom\">Fami<\/a><a title=\"Famicom\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mariowiki.com\/Famicom\">com<\/a> on September 13, 1985, and on the <a title=\"Nintendo Entertainment System\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mariowiki.com\/Nintendo_Entertainment_System\">Nintendo Entertainment System<\/a> in North America in late 1985 or 1986. This is the first game to be set explicitly in the <a title=\"Mushroom Kingdom\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mariowiki.com\/Mushroom_Kingdom\">Mushroom Kingdom<\/a>, marking the first appearances of <a title=\"Bowser\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mariowiki.com\/Bowser\">Bowser<\/a> and <a title=\"Princess  Peach\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mariowiki.com\/Princess_Peach\">Princess Toadstool<\/a>, as well as <a title=\"Koopa Troopa\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mariowiki.com\/Koopa_Troopa\">Koopa Troopas<\/a>, <a title=\"Goomba\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mariowiki.com\/Goomba\">Goombas<\/a> and many other <a title=\"Mario (series)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mariowiki.com\/Mario_%28series%29\"><em>Mario<\/em> series<\/a> enemies. <em>Super Mario Bros.<\/em> was the best selling video game of all time until recently when it was surpassed by <a title=\"wikipedia:Wii Sports\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wii_Sports\"><em>Wii Sports<\/em><\/a>, and was largely responsible for the initial success of the Nintendo Entertainment System.
