A Psalm of David When Nathan the Prophet Went to Him, After He Had Gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2<\/strong>\u00a0Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,<br \/>\nAnd cleanse me from my sin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3<\/strong>\u00a0For I acknowledge my transgressions,<br \/>\nAnd my sin <em>is <\/em>always before me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4<\/strong>\u00a0Against You, You only, have I sinned,<br \/>\nAnd done <em>this <\/em>evil in Your sight\u2014<br \/>\nThat You may be found just when You speak,<br \/>\n<em>And <\/em>blameless when You judge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5<\/strong>\u00a0Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,<br \/>\nAnd in sin my mother conceived me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6<\/strong>\u00a0Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,<br \/>\nAnd in the hidden <em>part <\/em>You will make me to know wisdom.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7<\/strong>\u00a0Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;<br \/>\nWash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8<\/strong>\u00a0Make me hear joy and gladness,<br \/>\n<em>That <\/em>the bones You have broken may rejoice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9<\/strong>\u00a0Hide Your face from my sins,<br \/>\nAnd blot out all my iniquities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10<\/strong>\u00a0Create in me a clean heart, O God,<br \/>\nAnd renew a steadfast spirit within me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>11<\/strong>\u00a0Do not cast me away from Your presence,<br \/>\nAnd do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12<\/strong>\u00a0Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,<br \/>\nAnd uphold me <em>by Your <\/em>generous Spirit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>13<\/strong>\u00a0<em> Then <\/em>I will teach transgressors Your ways,<br \/>\nAnd sinners shall be converted to You.<\/p>\n<p><strong>14<\/strong>\u00a0Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,<br \/>\nThe God of my salvation,<br \/>\n<em>And <\/em>my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>15<\/strong>\u00a0O Lord, open my lips,<br \/>\nAnd my mouth shall show forth Your praise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>16<\/strong>\u00a0For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give <em>it; <\/em><br \/>\nYou do not delight in burnt offering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>17<\/strong>\u00a0The sacrifices of God <em>are <\/em>a broken spirit,<br \/>\nA broken and a contrite heart\u2014<br \/>\nThese, O God, You will not despise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>18<\/strong>\u00a0Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion;<br \/>\nBuild the walls of Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>19<\/strong>\u00a0Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness,<br \/>\nWith burnt offering and whole burnt offering;<br \/>\nThen they shall offer bulls on Your altar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Psalm 51 A Prayer of Repentance 1\u00a0To the Chief Musician.
