Radiohead<\/a><\/strong> es una banda inglesa de rock alternativo originaria de Abingdon, formada en 1985. Desde su formaci\u00f3n la banda esta compuesta por Thom Yorke<\/a> (voz, guitarra r\u00edtmica, piano), Jonny Greenwood<\/a> (guitarra, teclado, otros instrumentos), Colin Greenwood<\/a> (bajo, sintetizadores), Phil Selway<\/a> (bater\u00eda, percusi\u00f3n) y Ed O'Brien<\/a> (guitarra, segunda voz).<\/p>\n

Radiohead lanz\u00f3 su primer sencillo, \"Creep\", en 1992. La canci\u00f3n fue inicialmente un fracaso comercial, pero se convirti\u00f3 en un \u00e9xito mundial durante varios meses despu\u00e9s del lanzamiento de su \u00e1lbum debut, Pablo Honey<\/a><\/em> (1993). La popularidad de Radiohead en el Reino Unido aument\u00f3 con el lanzamiento de su segundo \u00e1lbum, The Bends<\/a><\/em> (1995). El tercer \u00e1lbum de Radiohead, OK Computer<\/a><\/em> (1997), que trata los temas de la alienaci\u00f3n<\/a> y la globalizaci\u00f3n<\/a>, ha sido aclamado como una grabaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica de la d\u00e9cada de 1990.[2]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n

En los siguientes \u00e1lbumes, Radiohead tom\u00f3 un rumbo menos convencional, con influencias de la m\u00fasica electr\u00f3nica, el jazz, la m\u00fasica experimental y la m\u00fasica cl\u00e1sica. Como consecuencia Kid A<\/em> (2000), Amnesiac<\/em> (2001) y Hail to the Thief<\/em> (2003) no cosecharon el mismo \u00e9xito de cr\u00edticas que OK Computer<\/em>. Pese a ello, Kid A<\/em> alcanz\u00f3 el primer puesto del Billboard estadounidense y se alz\u00f3 con otro Grammy al mejor disco de rock alternativo y una nueva nominaci\u00f3n a mejor disco del a\u00f1o.[3]<\/sup><\/p>\n

En octubre de 2007 se public\u00f3 In Rainbows<\/em>. Este lanzamiento tuvo una gran repercusi\u00f3n en Internet debido al sistema escogido para su distribuci\u00f3n y cobro: la descarga directa al precio que el usuario estimase oportuno (pudiendo ser totalmente gratuito).[4]<\/sup> En su primera semana a la venta en formato f\u00edsico, In Rainbows<\/em> se aup\u00f3 al primer puesto de la lista brit\u00e1nica de \u00e1lbumes y el Billboard.[5]<\/sup> [6]<\/sup><\/p>\n

El trabajo de Radiohead ha sido reconocido por los cr\u00edticos en distintas listas y sondeos musicales.[7]<\/sup> [8]<\/sup> Por ejemplo, en 2005 fueron posicionados en el puesto n.\u00ba73 en la lista de los 100 mejores artistas de todos los tiempos de la revista Rolling Stone<\/em>.[9]<\/sup> Aunque los primeros \u00e1lbumes de la banda fueron especialmente influyentes en el rock y la m\u00fasica pop brit\u00e1nica,[10]<\/sup> sus \u00e1lbumes posteriores atrajeron a una audiencia m\u00e1s amplia. Su trabajo ha influido en otros m\u00fasicos de g\u00e9neros que van desde el jazz y la m\u00fasica cl\u00e1sica al hip hop y R & B<\/p>\n
