Considerada por muchos, la primera mujer cient\u00edfica de la historia, tiempos en el que ser mujer no ten\u00eda ninguna relevancia.<\/p>\n<p>Su padre Te\u00f3n de Alejandr\u00eda, fil\u00f3sofo y matem\u00e1tico, educ\u00f3 e influenci\u00f3 en el car\u00e1cter de ella. Dedicaba su tiempo en investigaciones y ense\u00f1ar en el Museo, diferente de las dem\u00e1s mujeres de aquella \u00e9poca.<\/p>\n<p>Sus amigos la llamaban \"<em>La Fil\u00f3sofa\" ,\u00a0<\/em>al obtener una c\u00e1tedra de filosof\u00eda plat\u00f3nica. Se convirti\u00f3 en una de las mejores cient\u00edficas y fil\u00f3sofas de ese entonces.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, el cristianismo se estaba expandiendo por toda la regi\u00f3n, y los paganos literalmente obligaban a los dem\u00e1s a convertirse en cristianos, caso que no sucedi\u00f3 con Hipat\u00eda. Para ella, el conocimiento y la ciencia eran su religi\u00f3n y verdad.<\/p>\n<p>Ante esta respuesta, los paganos comenzaron a acusarla de bruja y de conspirar en contra del l\u00edder cristiano de Alejandr\u00eda, Orestes. Tales acusaciones, 'ayudaron' a preparar una emboscada. En marzo de 415 o 416, mientras ella regresaba en carruaje a su casa, fue violentamente atacada por los paganos, quienes la golpearon y arrastraron por toda la ciudad hasta llegar a Ces\u00e1reo -catedral de Alejandr\u00eda-, donde la desnudaron y apiedraron.
