Visión mas moderna del famoso personaje creado por Arthur Conan Doyle inspirado, a su vez, en el cómic de Lionel Wigram. Sherlock Holmes debe enfrentarse a un nuevo enemigo, Lord Blackwood, y para ello cuenta con la ayuda de su fiel ayudante, el Dr. Watson, y de la bella Irene Alder, la única mujer que ha sido capaz de derrotarle.
