{"id":146,"date":"2012-05-19T09:27:20","date_gmt":"2012-05-19T08:27:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.espol.edu.ec\/xallam\/?p=146"},"modified":"2012-05-19T09:27:20","modified_gmt":"2012-05-19T08:27:20","slug":"pig-e2e-tests-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.espol.edu.ec\/xallam\/2012\/05\/19\/pig-e2e-tests-2\/","title":{"rendered":"ERROR 4010: Cannot find hadoop configurations in classpath"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Setting up pig for e2e tests isn't a daily-work task, it requires patience and sometimes more patience.<\/p>\n<p>Let me first explain the situation:\u00a0Hadoop 1.0.1-SNAPSHOT,\u00a0Apache Pig version 0.10.0-SNAPSHOT (r1156275) and Pig version 0.8.1 (obviously, you need an old towards tests).<\/p>\n<p>One common exception thrown while configuring old pig was this:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ERROR 4010: Cannot find hadoop configurations in classpath<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">It requires in some way to specify the path to core-site.xml or hadoop-site.xml (for older versions). I solved this by adding an env var\u00a0PIG_CONF_DIR with the path to \u00a0\"hadoop configuration directory\".<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">And that's it.
