El presidente lo menciono ayer en la noche: No seremos cómplices de la ineficiencia, ¿pero cómo vamos a competir con países donde el salario es cercano a $1 diario?
Desafortunadamente ese es el reto que se plantea, general tal cantidad de valor agregado en un producto made-in-Ecuador para que sea tan útil y precio-competitivo con productos similares de china, y demás países.
Y es que, como mencionó, las barreras de importación fortalecen las industrias nacionales hasta cierto punto y después de eso, se vuelven alcahueterías de ineficiencias.
Porque una industria nacional, que no tiene competidores, no por qué los elimino vía mercado, sino porque su gobierno la protege tiende a ser ineficiente a la falta de la presión de la competencia. Entonces estas empresas se no cuidan sus costos, y viven del mercado interno.
Ya se ven resultados de fortalecimientos de industrias Ecuatorianas, Robert Watson, anuncio esta semana que ante la medida de que los perfumes elevaran sus aranceles y tendrán cuota de entrada, se prevé importar maquinaria para incrementar la producción nacional.
Ojala este sea un primero de muchos pasos, para formar una solida industria nacional, y que como se establece anteriormente estos aranceles y cuotas de importación sean medidas temporales que busquen solamente fomentar la industria nacional y no sea su compinche.
