Good afternoon, Roxana:
“I am writing to you as a member of the Executive Education Program Alumni community to ask for your help. We are seeking to increase the diversity of our student population, and are working with the Joint Japan/World Bank (JJ/WB) Scholarship program to bring people from countries like yours as a funded student for our one year EMPA degree. As an alumnus of our program, I am hopeful that you will have recommendations of potential students for the program.
Successful applicants meet the following requirements:
· A TOEFL score of at least 92-93, or a comparative IELTS score
· An undergraduate degree from an accredited university
· 7 or more years of managerial or public policy experience
· A birthdate of no earlier than April 1, 1970
· The ability to come to Syracuse for a year to complete the degree
If you know potential applicants you would like to receive this opportunity, please send me their names and e-mail addresses so I may send them an e-mail with further details. Once an applicant applies and has been accepted to the EMPA program, the candidate will send a request to the World Bank for funding. The World Bank requires applications by the end of March, so I am hopeful you can send me information as soon as possible, to enable these potential students the ability to be funded by the World Bank and receive the Maxwell School’s Executive MPA degree.
Please be aware that the JJ/WB Scholarship committee makes all decisions related to scholarship awards. If applicants do not receive a scholarship, there is no funding available through the Maxwell School. Therefore, if you recommend an applicant, please be aware that they should also explore regional and professional scholarship opportunities in case they do not receive World Bank funds.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Tammy Salisbury is also available for queries. I hope all is going well with you and look forward to hearing from you at your very earliest convenience.
